An Entrepreneur is a person who alone starts a business or businesses, especially when the business involves seeing a new opportunity and taking a high risk for profit.

It's not just starting a business or taking a risk, it is the way of thinking. You can be entrepreneurial even when you're working for someone else. It means knowing your industry too much and you can use that knowledge for creating new opportunities.

It is the activity of setting up the business by taking the risks.

Now coming to the point that what are the major Characteristics of Entrepreneurs that make the Entrepreneurs different from the rest of the world.

Here are some Characteristics of Entrepreneurs :

1. Planning:

As they say "If you fail to plan, you plan to fail", without planning everything will go out of hand at the time of execution.
In a business, the first and the major step to make a business a success is to plan the business.
planning plays a vital role as
  • It helps in decision making

2. Knowledge:

As we know that knowledge is the key to success and without knowledge, you won't become successful. An Entrepreneur should possess most of the knowledge about the niche he/she is working or on his/her industry.

We know that "Knowledge is power" Knowledge enables us for the advancements in our field. The knowledge will prepare us for our goal with the knowledge you will need to do the hard work and you should have faith in your Luck.

With Knowledge you can make your own decisions, can choose what will be right for you. It is very important to use the full potential of our knowledge to unlock the gate of the impossible. Knowledge is when you have good information about your Industry and knowledge about yourself. Knowledge is also important to shape the personality and perfect your behavior and dealings with people too.

Knowledge about yourself is too important, that you should know your weakness and strengths for tackling every situation there which is waiting for you and will knock you off if you are not ready.

It will also help you to beat your competition as if you have better knowledge than your competitor you will lead your way. To grow in a career, gaining as much knowledge as possible is  very important

3. Passion

If you want to do some work it must be related to your passion or it should be connected to the goal for your passion. It's simple the more passionate you are about something, the chances are more that you will get success if you work hard for it.

Let me tell you a secret of entrepreneur that they all are passionate about their work.

Now the question arises that how can we understand that for what we are passionate about or what exactly the passion means.

For that, you will have to ask some questions to yourself (believe me this is not boring as it seems), Questions like:
  • In which subject I can read 100 books without getting bored?
  • In what topic you can work without getting paid for sometime.
  • In what topic you can speak at least 15 minutes without any preparation.
Always and every time Remeber that
"Follow your passion"
Is one of the major keys for becoming an Entrepreneur.
It will also allow you to put your extra effort in your working time for becoming a successful person. There will be hundreds of obstacle in front of you that are going to stop for becoming what you want to become.

4. A healthy attitude towards learning

There is one saying that "You need to Learn before you Earn". Without learning it's gonna be like, jumping into the ocean between the sharks where you don't know how to swim.

the first mistakes that people do at the beginning of the path towards Entrepreneurship that they don't learn the complete thing and try to earn. This might help you in making money for some time but this will not help you in the long term.

You have to learn from your failures too, Failures don't happen in life for regrets over it. Learn something from your failure, every failure has a story and every story has a moral and you must understand that moral.
Life teaches us every time. If you constantly try to learn you will have a good attitude towards everything.

5. Listen to everything, carefully

I remind myself every morning: Nothing I say this day will teach me anything. So if I'm going to learn, I must do it by listening.-Larry King
The more you will listen to someone, the more you will learn from someone. There is a huge difference between hearing and listening.
In listening, you need to pay attention to all the things they are saying even their body and hand movement. listening means observing verbal and non-verbal messages and hearing is just the process of perceiving sound.

Benefits of listening

  • to understand accurate knowledge.
  • to understand non-verbal messages.
  • To show interest, concern, and concentration.
This is the characteristics of entrepreneurs which is avoided most of the times.

6. Invest in yourself

If you do hard work and everything is going good but the outcome is not as good as your expectations the main reason for that could be that you don't have enough knowledge or skills. you can understand these things when you start investing in yourself

What does investing in yourself means?

When you hear the word "Invest" what actually comes in your mind is money but here that's not the case, you must invest time in the parts of yourself which needs development.
there are many aspects of our life where we need to grow but putting your less time to it, will not help you.

We all know that the best investment you will ever make in your life is in yourself.

You will never go broke from investing in yourself

7. Risk-Taking

It is the most essential ability of entrepreneurs. If you don't explore the unexplored area of whatever thing comes in your way, you won't get the opportunities which might be waiting for you after that risk-taking step you take. Even if you fail after that risk-taking step, there is no loss. you learn from your mistakes.

Every good entrepreneur takes the risk whether there is the investment of time or money and he/she will have a backup plan too, Evaluation of the risk to be undertaken is also very essential.

Living with fear stops us taking risks, and if you don't go out on the branch, you're never going to get the best fruit. -Sarah Parish

8. Hard work

With hard work everything is possible, even you don't have skills, passion, talent, money etc. at last the person who had done hard work and has discipline towards his/her work is gonna beat everyone.

Many people complain that they are lacking resources and don't have enough time or work is not their cup of tea. they can't do that thing because they are lazy, the only thing which can help them is determination and most importantly hard work.

There is a story of Colonel Harland Sanders who was disappointed many times in his life but by hard work, he achieved success.he is the 7th-grade dropout and failed many times in his life. At the age of 40, he started selling chicken but his dream of a restaurant always came down. late he decided to franchise his restaurant. His recipe was rejected 1009 time before the final approval and soon the secret recipe, “Kentucky Fried Chicken” became a huge hit in worldwide.
For becoming an entrepreneur you need to do hard work or you need to work at least 40 hours a week with the laser-focused mind. Becoming an entrepreneur is not everyone's cup of tea because it's not that easy.

9. Creativity

To create or to build something new, you have to be creative. More creative than most of the people in the world. Without creativity, there is no innovation possible in this modern world.

We often think that the meaning of creativity is to create something new but the root meaning of the word "creativity" is to grow. it also expands our perception and expanded perception you can unlock new ways of problem-solving and problem solving should be your one of the top qualities to become a successful entrepreneur
